My son was in Afghanistan - said these highly trained dogs saved his units' life more than once. He had total respect for them... Sadly he said that like people, these dogs are prone to PTSD, and after a certain number of tours they are routinely put down.... so sad.

A Belgian Malinois named Heidi once lived in my neighborhood. She became best friends with my 12 pound Shi-Poo named Oreo. I’ve never been so awestruck by a living creature. Heidi’s life force, her spirit, was incredible. Her posture and appearance frightened everyone. However she was actually extremely kind and friendly. She was the most wonderful creature I’ve ever come to know. She’s now unfortunately several years deceased. I will never forget her. Whenever we walk by Heidi’s former yard, my Shi-Poo Oreo always stops and searches for her friend Heidi.

I have one mixed with a German Shepard. When I tell you one of the best mixes and almost an upgrade to the pure breed I mean it. Picture athleticism of the Malinois with the bulk of the shepard. My German/Malenois Mix 50/50 can jump 6 feet in the air in place. It's incredible

I used to be so scared of police K9 dogs when I was a kid. Now being an adult I think they're freaking awesome! The police k9 dogs in our county are the nicest dogs I have ever encountered. And smart as holy hell too

I was scared but I was totally focused on the results." Michael wasn't put off by people's comments and kept going. He incorporated his military experience into his training methods and took to social media to document his journey. It was also through his social media that Michael has caught the attention of high-end clients and military around the world, including armed forces in Belgium, Spain and Germany. After becoming a licensed dog trainer, Michael set up his own dog training company, Tactical K9 Family, to take his dreams even further. Michael has purchased a second dog, Athena, and is planning to move to Los Angeles to continue building his business.
