Then I just set the crockpot on high and cooked for six hours and I am here to tell you this recipe is absolutely delicious! Growing up on a Bayou South East Texas close to the Louisianna state line, we ate this savory down-home dish at least once a week and I never had tried cooking it in the crockpot, I’m not sure why but after trying this delicious, super easy slow-cooked crockpot variation I’m sold! The only thing I do differently is that I sautee my sausage and veggies in organic butter before I put them in the crockpot with my beans because it seals everything and gives a nice buttery undertone to the wonderful flavors you experience while eating this dish.
