How to Cope with Morning Sickness and Nausea During Pregnancy?

The flu and the common cold are also very common illnesses, but once we get caught in the winter, we know how it puts us. The worst part about nausea is not finally throwing up; it makes you feel exhausted and exhausted until you throw up.



Before you get pregnant, you can know if you will get morning sickness during your pregnancy.

If you feel nauseous in vehicles when you are not pregnant;

Smell Good Fragrances



The rising estrogen hormone sharpens your sense of smell. Like a hound, you can feel every scent within 100 meters in the depths of your mind. Normally, sharpening people’s senses may seem like a good thing. But the result can be painful as other parts of the body do not adapt to this sharpening. Increased sensitivity to odor causes bad odors to overwhelm you. That’s why I recommend carrying a fragrant plant leaf or extract with you that you can smell whenever needed. It will be more beneficial to use natural scented objects as artificial products give off an extremely intense scent.



Keep a Journal



When we say keep a diary, we are not talking about a diary like “dear diary, I have nausea today”. Instead, I’m talking about a “what did I experience and do before nausea” diary that can identify which situations during the day trigger or increase your discomfort. Thus, you will be able to stay away from these situations in the following days. For example, if your nausea increases from afternoon to evening, you can have a snack with you. If it is increasing at lunch time, you can apply to the pleasant smells mentioned above in order not to be exposed to food smells.


Don’t Get Thirsty



Sounds like a very simple suggestion. However, in today’s world, a significant portion of people suffer from chronic thirst even during normal times. No one except the experts is aware of it. Because this level of thirst will not make you sick or bedridden in a short time. However, it can cause minor permanent damage to your body. This being the case, it will be more difficult for a pregnant woman to pay attention to the water situation when there are many problems in her head. But we do know a few tricks that will increase your water intake: for example, you can have an occasional salty snack during the day. Another healthier way is to suck on ice. Finally, you can constantly change the temperature of the water you drink during the day from cold to very hot. Temperature is important because many pregnant women feel worse when they drink warm water.



Keep Eating



Apart from your daily meals, continue to eat snacks that your stomach can handle. Keeping your stomach busy with easily digestible foods will prevent it from malfunctioning. It is difficult to set definite rules as everyone has their own different metabolism. A food that soothes one’s stomach can turn another inside out. But generally, things like crackers, dried celery, succulents work well with most pregnancies.



Spices



Some spices can prevent nausea during pregnancy. These are lemongrass, mint, black nettle, sweet herbs, peach leaf. It is sold in tablet, capsule or liquid form. However, be sure to consult your doctor or pharmacist before using these products because some spices can be harmful during pregnancy.



Be Prepared



We can follow your pregnancy week by week and plan the measures you will take for your morning sickness. If you are one of the unlucky mothers who show symptoms like vomiting, have an emergency kit with you to be prepared just in case. Walking around with this bag all day may seem like a hassle, but it’s better to go through the hassle than to get yourself into awkward situations that you’ll regret later. Keep one piece of clothing, toothpaste and brush, mouthwash and mint gum in the bag in case you need to change.

Acupuncture is a traditional treatment method in which a specialist puts pressure on sensitive nerve endings in your body or stimulates them with special needles. There are people who say that this cures some minor ailments, such as nausea or headaches. On the other hand, it is claimed that wearing some jewelry and accessories such as bracelets or bands specific to this treatment can alleviate the problems.



In some cases, morning sickness may be experienced, exceeding the common nausea and vomiting. A doctor’s intervention is required.



Finally, even though it’s one of the last things you want to do when you’re feeling down, a brisk walk can increase the release of endorphins, making you feel better.



As we said at the beginning, the good news is that morning sickness won’t last your entire pregnancy. After your first periods, it will gradually get lighter and fall off your neck.
